Who is behind WT Consulting?

Wayne Thomas FCMA qualified as an accountant in the early 70's with Plessey (an electronics group since taken over by GEC). Wayne subsequently developed his career in line finance with US companies, ultimately as Finance Director - AM International (office equipment and supplies), Black and Decker (consumer power tools), and Raychem (a high tech material sciences company - now part of Tyco). Wayne travelled regularly around Europe and also lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for three years (creating a local joint venture company for Raychem and building a manufacturing plant) and in Southern Ireland for a year.

Following his return to the UK in the mid 80's Wayne was invited to become an Executive Recruiter with a national firm. In 1990, together with several colleagues, and finance from 3i, Wayne established Wheale Thomas Hodgins in Bristol. Wayne ultimately became Managing Director and lead fee earner.

Early during this time Wayne's recruiting activities spread into other disciplines (eg. Managing Directors, Sales and Marketing Directors) and into continental Europe (first France, then Germany, soon followed by Austria and Sweden). Wayne has also recruited in the USA eg. a VP Sales and Marketing from Phoenix; a Tax Director, from New York .

In late1996 Wayne decided to pursue a different course from WTH, and sought a portfolio of interest, ultimately taking a software training company onto the Ofex market, before returning full-time to Executive Recruitment in early 1998, when WT Consulting was established.

Since then WTC has gone from strength to strength recruiting in Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and France, as well as the UK. In addition there have been some interesting projects such as a 12 month mentoring program for 17 people over four sites - one in Scotland and one in Belgium.

Within reason - yes. In the course of meeting someone either specifically or generally, WTC will often volunteer such guidance.

Yes - however, being a small selective operation, we do not necessarily retain everyone's details.
